Williams men's track & field turned in a strong, well-rounded performance on Saturday at the UMass Commonwealth Invitational and the Bison Outdoor Classic.
The Ephs were particularly dominant in the 5,000m, where Emil Nelson led the charge with a first-place finish in 15:00.51. Liam O'Connor followed in third with a personal-best 15:05.20, while Andrew Kolenski finished in fourth (15:08.79) and Avery Allen in fifth with a personal best of 15:09.25 to round out an impressive pack performance.
Ryan Hardiman also notched a personal best, finishing in 10th place with a time of 15:20.72.
In the 1,500m, TJ Zwall broke the four-minute barrier for the first time, placing fifth in a personal-best 3:59.31. He was joined by a trio of Ephs also setting personal records, including Luke Zanuck (10th, 4:01.39) and Luis Mendoza (14th, 4:04.48).
On the track, Uly Junker delivered a standout sprint performance, placing sixth in the 100 meters with a personal-best of 10.68.
Williams' relay squads also impressed, as the 4x100 team of Sheehan Pierre-Louis, Eric He, Yanni Kakouris, and Devesh Khamitkar placed third in a personal-best of 41.43.
The 4x400 relay group of Juan Talisayon, Noah Stegmeier, Stone, and Gavin Engtrakul followed with a fourth-place finish, clocking a personal-best of 3:25.27.
In the steeplechase, Malcom Oakes led the way with a fifth-place finish in a personal-best time of 9:34.00, while Duncan DeProfio added another PR with an eighth place finish in 10:07.98.
A small group of Eph distance runners also competed at the Bison Outdoor Classic in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, facing a competitive field of Division I and II programs.
Zachary Liu-Walter placed eighth in the 800m with a time of 1:51.32, while Henry Alexander delivered one of the top performances of the weekend, finishing fifth in the 3,000m steeplechase in a personal-best 9:02.46.
