MIDDLETOWN, CT – On Sunday the #8 Williams College Ephs (8-3; NESCAC 1-1) looked to recover from a tough loss against #4 Middlebury the day before. The schedule did not get any easier, however, as the team had to visit #8 Wesleyan (6-1; NESCAC 1-0), another difficult conference opponent. The Cardinals looked the better team throughout, and were able to defeat the Ephs for the first time since 1972.
"We did not recover well from yesterday's match," said head coach Dan Greenberg. "We did some things better, especially at the top of our singles lineup, but overall Wesleyan came out to win while we did not. That said, we know where we're coming up short against top teams and will keep working to correct them."
The 8-4 Ephs will look to work out the difficulties in practice over the week before playing their spring home-opener against the Stevens Institute Ducks on Saturday, April 15th at 9:00 AM.
