Ephs Triumph Over Westfield State 6-0 Under the Lights

Williamstown, MA.—In their first ever game playing at Farley-Lamb Field, the Ephs (6-4-2) faced off against the Westfield State University Owls (4-9-0), walking away with a 6-0 victory.

In the 8th minute, Felipe Gutierrez got things started for the Ephs as he drove through the Westfield backline and put in a shot from 9 yards out. Westfield's keeper Drew Adams was forced to make a kick save.

Dan Rayhill exploded down the right wing in the 26th minute and took the ball across the end line. He picked up his head and played the ball across goal to Henry Osborn. Osborn took the pass and laid it off Dylan Kelemen who stroked the ball into the net.

In the 38th minute, Brady Foehl broke free on the left wing and drove at goal. He fired a shot from a tight angle and Drew Adams made a crucial save to tip the ball onto the post and out of play.

Nathan Song scored the Ephs' second goal of the game in the 50th minute. Nick Ranieri threw the ball into Nick Boardman. Boardman flicked the ball further towards goal with his head and Song headed the ball into the net.

In the 51st minute, the Ephs tacked on a third. Dan Rayhill took on his man on the wing and burst at the goal. He knocked the ball around another defender and placed the ball into the side netting far past the reach of the keeper.

In the 53rd minute, Nick Ranieri pinged a ball to the path of Keel Brissett who bolted towards goal. He brought the ball down with his head and hit a shot off balance. The ball rolled across the frame, hit the inside of the far post, and went in to put the Ephs up 4-0.

Two minutes later, Daniel Zhang opened his hips and put in a low driven delivery across the goal. Nathan Song was there to meet the pass and tapped the ball into the net.

In the 64th minute, senior Teddy Rader logged his first minutes of the season for the Ephs and would end the game with a clean sheet.

In the 81st minute, Luke Swann whipped a ball into the box and Eli Petrik directed the cross into the bottom right corner with the outside of his foot to make it 6-0. The goal marked Petrik's first goal of the season.

With the win, the Ephs remain undefeated at home.

"What a team performance by the guys tonight! We looked especially good and dangerous in and around Westfield's final 3rd all night. Happy the guys rewarded themselves," said head coach Steffen Siebert.

The Ephs will look to carry their momentum into their next game as they travel to Hamilton College next Wednesday at 3 PM.
