ROME, GA. – Junior
Chase Cohen, senior
Peter Frelinghuysen, and first year
Matt Kandel all competed in the finals of ITA Cup as Cohen faced Middlebury senior Stan Morris in the singles draw and Frelinghuysen and Kandel faced CMS first year Nathan Arimilli and sophomore Philip Martin in the doubles draw.
Despite a strong start, Cohen fell in three sets 2-6, 6-3, 6-1. Frelinghuysen and Kandel dropped their opening set 6-2 but were able to prevail, winning the final two sets 7-6 (1), 6-3. Overall, it was a great tournament and for the three Ephs. "This was a great fall for us and a great way to finish the ITA Cup," head coach
Dan Greenberg said. "I wish Chase could've held on for the win, but I know he'll be back stronger than ever in the spring, and I thought Matt and Peter did an awesome job of turning the tide in their match for a huge win. Everyone here is at the top of our division, so I'm really happy with how we competed throughout the event."
While this concludes the fall season for the Ephs, they will look to continue making strides during the off-season in preparation for their spring campaign.
