Forwards Emily Batchelor and Liz Welch Named First Team All-NESCAC

HADLEY, MASS. – Eph forwards junior Emily Batchelor (Sherborn, Mass) and senior Liz Welch (Winchester, Mass.) earned their first NESCAC honors this season as they were voted to the All-NESCAC First Team by the conference coaches. Batchelor and Welch were prime reasons the Ephs were ranked in the national top twenty all season long and helping the Eph team finish with an 11-5 overall record.

"Elizabeth and Emily are deserving of 1st Team All-NESCAC honors," said Eph head coach Alix Barrale. "So proud of them!"

Batchelor was the team's second leading scorer notching 11 goals (3 game-winners) and adding 3 assists for 25 points. "Emily is an offensive force," Barrale stated. "Her exceptional stick skills and killer shot make her difficult to defend. Her finesse coupled with incredible athleticism is why she is one of the most feared attackers in the league. I am so excited to have her back next year!"

Welch netted 3 goals ( 2 game-winners) and a team high 7 assists for 13 points this fall. "Elizabeth is one of the most dynamic players I have coached in my 20 plus years," noted Barrale. "Her speed, quickness, and ability to handle the ball under pressure are unmatched. But even more impressive is her humility and love for her teammates. My heart hurts thinking about her graduating."

Both Batchelor and Welch started all 16 games this fall.
