CLAREMONT, CA. – The Ephs dropped their first match of the season against #3 CMS this afternoon. The Ephs got off to a slow start, dropping each of the doubles matches. Heading into the singles matches down 3-0, the team battled well but fell short in the end.
Sophomore
Matt Kandel and first year
Shawn Berdia had great days in singles as Kandel won 6-2, 6-0 and Berdia won 6-0, 6-2. Senior
Kirun Cheung and junior
Karan Amin both lost opening set tiebreakers before losing in straight sets. Junior
Chase Cohen started off strong but ultimately lost in three sets. Senior
Michael Medvedev capped off the day with a hard-fought win at the #5 spot.
The team will face Westmont College on Tuesday in the final match of their spring break trip.
