6 Eph Rowers Named All-NESCAC & Head Coach Marc Mandel Named Coach of the Year

HADLEY, Mass. – The New England Small College Athletic Conference announced the 2022 Men's Rowing All-NESCAC First and Second Teams.
 
The 10-member squads are comprised of individuals from the league's eight teams and based on each team's finish at the NESCAC Championship held on May 8 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.

Williams placed four individuals on the All-NESCAC First Team, with senior Piper Higgins (coxswain), first-year Owen Maier, and juniors Tad Montesano and Gus Nordmeyer all receiving recognition. Montesano collected his second NESCAC First team honor having been previously honored in 2021
 
The Ephs repeated as the NESCAC Champion and they also won the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) DIII championship this spring. Overall Williams has now won 10 NESCAC titles.

Eph Second Team honorees included seniors Max Chayet and Riley Will.

Williams head coach Marc Mandel now in his fifth year at the Eph helm was voted as the NESCAC Men's Rowing Coach of the Year by his peers for the second straight year after guiding the Ephs to their second consecutive NESCAC title.
 
Winning the 2022 NESCAC title earned the Ephs a berth in the 119th Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championship, which will hold the association's first ever Division III National Championship June 3-5 on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey.
