BOSTON, MA – The men's track and field team continued the DIII New England Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at the TRACK at New Balance. They finished the meet off strong, coming in 2nd place to MIT. The second day of the meet began with the 60m finals, in which Jackson Anderson '24 secured 4th place with a time of 6.98s.
This was followed by the mile, in which Nate Lentz '24 competed. He ran a new personal record time of 4:07.85, placing 3rd and making number 2 all-time at Williams. The next event was the 400m run by Oscar Newman '25, Jackson Davis '25, and Adam Roupas '23. Newman placed 1st running a new school record and personal best time of 48.62s. Davis placed 4th with after being disqualified then reconsidered. He finished in a personal best time of 49.13s making #7 all-time at Williams. Roupas placed 13th with a time of 50.43s.
In the 800m, Jinwoo Kang '24 placed 5th with a time of 1:53.49, and in the 1000m, Zachary Liu-Walter '26 placed 13th with a time of 2:34.32. In the 200m, Jackson David '25, Bryce Cooper '26, and Jack Davis '24 competed. Jackson Davis ran a personal best time of 21.86s, placing 6th and making #3 all-time at Williams. Cooper placed 9th with a personal best time of 22.17s making #5 all-time at Williams. Jack Davis placed 12th with an indoor personal best time of 22.37s, making #10 all-time at Williams.
In the 3000m, 5 Ephs competed: Elias Lindgren '23, Simon Kissam '23, Charles Namiot '25, Nikhil DeNatale '26, and Jacob Lehmann Duke '24. Lindgren placed 1st, making #2 all-time at Williams and setting a new meet record with a personal best time of 8:08.07. Kissam placed 5th with a personal best time of 8:23.41, Namiot placed 7th with a time of 8:28.10, DeNatale placed 12th with a time of 8:33.12, and Lehman Duke placed 14th with a personal best time of 8:34.31.
The relays started with the 4x400m relay, in which Jack Davis, Newman, Cooper, and Jackson Davis competed in. The team set a new meet record running a time of 3:18.29 to place 1st. Next was the 4x800m relay which was run by Oliver Hall '23, Luke Tichi '24, Rick Yanashita '26, and Victor Cazabal '25. The team placed 6th, running 7:56.79 and making #9 all-time at Williams.
In the field events, Jeremy Bertolet '24 competed in the triple jump. He placed 5th with a jump of 13.62m.
This meet marks the end of the indoor season for many members of the team. Following this meet is the Tufts Final Qualifier at Tufts University on March 4, 2023, and then the NCAA DIII Championships on March 10-11th, 2023 at Crossplex in Birmingham, AL.
