Two All-American Performances and One New School Record at Day Two of NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship

Rochester, NY — Sam Riley '23 and Jackson Anderson '24 represented the Ephs in day two of the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championship. Riley competed in the pole vault and Anderson completed the decathlon. In the pole vault, Riley placed 3rd with a jump of 4.90m (16'0.75"), just 5cm short of his outdoor personal record. This jump earned him the All-American honor. 

Anderson competed in the 110m hurdles, discus throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and 1500m to finish off the decathlon. Anderson placed 1st in the hurdles, running a time of 14.64s. He placed 16th in the discus throw with a throw of 31.44m (103'1"), 13th in the pole vault with a jump of 3.80m (12'5"), and 19th in the javelin throw with a throw of 39.93m (131'). In the 1500m, Anderson broke his personal record by 10 seconds, placing 1st with a time of 4:24.48. Overall, Anderson finished 2nd with a total score of 7079. This breaks his previous school record score of 6686 by nearly 400 points and earns him the All-American honor. 

The Ephs will close the season tomorrow with Elias Lindgren '23 running the 5000m. The Ephs men are currently placed 3rd in the meet with a total score of 16 points.
