Springfield, MA – On Friday, May 5th, 2023, and Saturday, May 6th, 2023 a small group of the Williams men's track and field team members traveled to Springfield College in Springfield, MA to compete in the DIII New England Outdoor Track and Field Championship. The Ephs performed well in all areas and placed in several events.
On Friday, Jack Davis '24 and Jackson Hartigan '23 competed. Davis ran the 100m and placed 9th with a time of 10.89s. Hartigan ran a PR time of 32:53.86 in the 10,000m.
Saturday on the track Zachary Liu-Walter '26 competed in the 800m and finished with a time of 1:55.32. Adam Roupas '23 and Bryce Cooper '26 ran the 400mH, in which Roupas placed 5th with a PR time of 54.87s and Cooper ran a time of 56.16s. Davis returned on Saturday to compete in the 200m, and he placed 8th with a time of 21.89s. To close off the track events, Luke Tichi '24, Jacob Lehmann-Duke '24, and Luke Zanuck '26 ran the 5,000m. Tichi placed 5th with a new PR time of 14:59.98 and Lehmann-Duke placed 9th with a time of 15:19.13. Zanuck was close behind with a time of 15:35.23.
On the field, Jeremy Bertolet '24 competed in the triple jump. He placed 7th with a jump of 13.58m (44'6.75").
The outdoor track and field season is now coming to a close, with just a couple of meets remaining. Next weekend, some Ephs will travel to the All-New England Championship taking place at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. Following that is the Williams Final Qualifier at our home track on Wednesday, May 17, and the NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field Championships at St. John's Fisher University in Pittsford, NY May 25-28th, 2023.
