Men's Track & Field Team Named as 2023 Division III USTFCCA All-Academic Team

NEW ORLEANS, LA - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCA) recently revealed its list of All-Academic teams, and the Williams Men's Track team has proudly earned a spot among the recipients. To qualify for this prestigious honor, the cumulative team GPA (not 2022-2023 academic year) must be at least a 3.1 on a 4.0 scale through the most recent semester. The Williams Men's track team posted one of the highest GPAs among the recipients, with a grade-point average of 3.64. 

Apart from their academic achievements, the team also demonstrated impressive athletic performances throughout the 2022-2023 season. They placed 2nd out of 11 schools in the NESCAC Outdoor Championship and 2nd out of 25 in the New England Division III Indoor Championship. The team finished 14th out of 67 schools at the NCAA Indoor Championship, and at the NCAA Outdoor Championship, the team claimed 7th out of 78 schools.

In response to their remarkable accomplishments this year, Dusty Lopez, the assistant coach of the Williams Cross Country and Track & Field Team, shares, "Our team is very motivated to succeed in all of their pursuits, whether in uniform or in academic life. We take pride in our record of balancing competitive goals and classroom achievement, so it's nice to see the group's effort and talent recognized by the USTFCCCA with these awards."
