JACKSONVILLE, FL – Thirteen members of
Paula Thoms' 2022-23 Williams Women's Crew have earned Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Scholar Athlete recognition this year.
To qualify, an athlete must maintain an average cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher and be in at least their second year of eligibility. Additionally, student-athletes must have rowed in their institution's NCAA or IRA (lightweight) eligible boats for a minimum of 75% of the current spring races or race in an NCAA Boat at their Conference Championship/NCAA Championship.
The Williams Women's Crew team had a phenomenal 2023 season, winning the NESCAC Championship and the National Invitational Rowing Championships. The Williams 2V went on to place third at the NCAA Championship. The capacity of these honorees to accomplish this while excelling academically is a remarkable trait.
