Boston, MA — On Friday, March 1st, 2024, three Ephs traveled to Boston, MA to compete in the Tufts Final Qualifier at Tufts University on Saturday, March 2nd. Vincent VanMaaren competed in the pole vault, Chuckie Namiot '25 in the 5,000m and Zachary Liu-Walter '26 in the 800m. Additionally, Jeremy Bertolet '24 traveled to Nazareth University in Rochester, NY to compete at the AARTFC Championship in the triple jump.
All three Ephs at Tufts set new personal records. VanMaaren jumped 4.56m (14'11.5") to place 1st and tie for Williams #10 all-time. Namiot ran 14:16.00 to place 2nd, and this performance currently qualifies him for the NCAA DIII Indoor Championship and moves him up to #5 Williams all-time. Liu-Walter placed 4th with a time of 1:52.69, which ties him for Williams #5 all-time. At Nazareth, Bertolet jumped 12.86m (42'2.25").
A small group of Ephs will travel to Virginia Beach, VA on Wednesday, March 6th, 2024 to close out the season with the NCAA DIII Indoor Championship. The meet will take place on Friday, March 8th and Saturday, March 9th.
