Oak Sullivan Finishes in 6th at NCAA Championships

GENEVA, OH -- The final meet of the 2025 outdoor season was the NCAA Championships, held at the Spire Academy from Thursday, May 22nd, to Saturday, May 24th, in Geneva, Ohio. Overall, the Ephs had strong showings and ended the season on a high note. The Ephs finished tied for 58th place.

In the Long Jump, Will Murray '25 finished in 12th place with a mark of 7.03m (23' 0.75"). In the 800m, Zachary Liu-Walter '26 finished in 18th place with a mark of 1:54.11.

The highlight of the meet was the performance by Oak Sullivan '28 in the Decathlon. The first event out of ten was the 100m, where Sullivan finished in 5th with a time of 11.11s. Next was the Long Jump, where he achieved a season best of 6.60m (21' 8") to place 8th. In the Shot Put, he placed 14th with a throw of 10.62m (34' 10.25"). After was the High Jump, where Sullivan achieved a new personal best of 1.85m (6' 0.75") to place 8th. The last event of the day was the 400m, where he set another new personal best of 50.26s to place 3rd.

On the second day of the Decathlon, Sullivan kicked things off with the 110m Hurdles, placing 11th with a time of 16.06s. Next was the Discus Throw, where he placed 19th with a mark of 28.31m (92' 10"). In the Pole Vault, he jumped 4.10m (13' 5.25") to place 8th. Next was the Javelin Throw, where Sullivan finished in 7th with a mark of 46.11m (151' 3"). In the final event of the Decathlon, the 1500m, Sullivan achieved a new personal best of 4:44.65 to place 5th. He finished with a total of 6,536 points, setting a new personal best for the Decathlon. This was enough to place Sullivan 6th overall and secure his status as an All-American. 

After a successful NCAA Championships, the Ephs close out the season with impressive performances, personal records, and an All-American finish, setting the stage for even greater achievements in the years to come.
