Ephs Sweep #20 Ranked Bates 9-0

LEWISTON, MA – Today the Ephs faced Bates in the second round of matches for a three-match weekend in Maine. The Ephs made quick work of their Bobcat opponents, winning 9-0.

In a three court system, first up were Sophia Koehler, Nora Brant, and Amanda Solecki. Koehler and Solecki won in efficient three games against their opponents, while Brant went to four games, finishing out the match with a score of 11-5. 

Next on court were Melanie Wang and Rhea Pandit. Anika Kakarla scored a point for the Ephs in the #9 spot by default. Wang beat her opponent in a confident four games, while Pandit won in three.

Last on court, Christina Yen, Theresa Kay, and Naomi Jefferson-Sambanis, all had strong showings, winning in three quick games.

Ultimately, the Ephs won the match 9-0. After the match, Eph head coach Hesham Aly commented, "I'm really proud of the team today. Everyone showed up and brought the energy we hope to have throughout the rest of the season".

The Ephs will play at Bowdoin tomorrow in the last match of the weekend.
