WESTFIELD, Mass. - The Williams College men's cross-country team had five of the first six runners across the line as the team earned a comprehensive meet win at the James Earley Invitational, hosted by Westfield State, on Saturday morning.
Senior Ryan Hardiman won the race, finishing the 8k course in 25:23, seven seconds ahead of the second-placed competitor from Fitchburg State.Â
The next four runners across the line were all Ephs, as TJ Zwall, Liam O'Connor, Henry Alexander, and Gavin Engtrakul rounded out the team's top five. Avery Allen (8th overall) and Blake Biever (10th) were in the final scoring positions for Williams.
The team also saw strong runs from Jackson McFerron, Zachary Liu-Walter, Rex Bedwick, Duncan DeProfio, and Luis Angel Mendoza.
"It was a good show of team depth and development," said Head Coach Dusty Lopez. "Pretty much across the board we had people give their most competitive efforts of the season, particularly the first years. Always nice to see two wins."
Williams will travel to Connecticut next weekend to preview the NESCAC Championship course at the Conn College Invitational, at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn. The NESCAC Championship will take place two weeks later at the same location.
