COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - After leading the Williams College field hockey team to four NCAA Division III Tournaments and two appearances in the Final Four during their illustrious collegiate careers,
Pilar Torres and
Kiki Higgins earned National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Senior Team laurels Thursday.
"This is an honor that reflects not just their talent, but the excellence, leadership and competitive drive they have brought to our program every single day," said head coach
Alix Barrale. "Together, they have set a standard that will echo long after they graduate. They are fierce competitors, phenomenal teammates and unbelievable representatives of Williams field hockey. Their selection to the NFHCA Senior Team is richly deserved and we could not be prouder."
Higgins led the 2025 unit in goals (13), assists (7) and points (33). She ranks third in the NESCAC in points and in a tie for fourth in goals. On Oct. 27, Higgins was named NESCAC Player of the Week, and two days later, she was honored with NFHCA Division III Offensive Player of the Week laurels. Torres tallied five goals, four assists and 14 points this season. She found the back of the net twice, including the game-winning tally, during a 4-0 triumph against Colby on Sept. 27 at Williamson Field.
During her four-year collegiate career, Higgins finished with 42 goals, 35 assists, 119 points and 11 game-winning tallies, while Torres posted 31 goals, 16 assists, 78 points and nine game-winners. Both student-athletes were named to the NESCAC All-Conference First Team in three consecutive seasons from 2023-25, while Higgins was named the conference's Rookie of the Year in 2022 and Offensive Player of the Year in 2025.
At the conclusion of the 2024 season, Higgins was honored as an NFHCA First Team All-American, while Torres earned a spot on the Second Team. Higgins and Torres powered the Ephs to a program-record 16 wins during the 2024 season, as the group earned a first-round bye in the NCAA Tournament and hosted and won a regional for the second and third rounds.
