Men’s Basketball Seeded 6th in NESCAC Tournament and Will Play at Third Seeded Tufts Saturday February 22 at 2 PM

HADLEY, Mass. – The 2025 NESCAC Men's Basketball Tournament  begins with quarterfinal action on Saturday, February 22, at the higher seeds. The four quarterfinal winners advance to the semifinal round on Saturday, March 1, at the highest remaining seed. The championship game is set for Sunday, March 2, at the site of the semifinal games.
 
Tiebreakers
 
Williams, Colby, and Amherst finished with identical conference records of 4-6. Williams, Colby, and Amherst went 1-1 in head-to-head competition. In comparing results against the top four teams (Wesleyan, Trinity, Tufts, and Hamilton), Williams went 1-3, Colby went 0-4, and Amherst went 0-4 as Williams earned the No. 6 seed. In head-to-head competition, Colby defeated Amherst to earn the No. 7 seed, with Amherst the No. 8 seed.

No. 3 Tufts Jumbos (20-4, 8-2 NESCAC) vs. No. 6 Williams Ephs (15-9, 4-6 NESCAC)

  • Tufts is making its 14th consecutive appearance in the NESCAC Tournament and is the No. 3 seed for the first time since 2016.
  • The Jumbos have advanced to the semifinals in each of the last two tournaments.
  • Tufts won its only NESCAC title in 2020.
  • Williams is the No. 6 seed for the first time since 2020.
  • The Ephs have qualified for every NESCAC Championship (24 consecutive).
  • Williams, the 2024 NESCAC Runners-Up, has reached the semifinals three straight years and played in two of the last three championship games.
  • The Ephs won their fifth NESCAC title in 2018.
  • Tufts defeated Williams, 59-46, on January 17 in Williamstown.
  • The Ephs are 5-2 against the Jumbos in the NESCAC postseason series and won the last meeting, 81-65, in the 2017 semifinals.
