Ephs Conclude Spring Break at Emory Thrills in the Hills Event

ATLANTA, GA - The Williams College Men's Track and Field team finished their spring break trip in Atlanta on Saturday at the final day of the 2025 Emory Thrills in the Hills Classic which was held at Emory University. After a great week of training, the Ephs concluded their trip with many strong performances.

The first event of the day was the Pole Vault, where Vincent VanMaaren '27 placed 1st with a jump of 4.92m (16' 1.75"). Next was the Long Jump, where William Murray '25 and Jordan Davis '28 finished with marks of 6.35m (20' 10") and 5.54m (18' 2"). Over on the track, Sheehan Pierre-Louis '28, Yanni Kakouris '27, and Devesh Khamitkar '28 all competed in the 100m. Pierre-Louis finished with a time of 11.17s, Kakouris with 11.25s, and Khamitkar with 11.36s.

The first 4x100m team of the season consisted of Murray, Kakouris, Bryce Cooper '26, and Khamitkar. The four men executed the race very well, finishing in 5th place with a time of 42.40. After was the 1500m, where Eli Welch '28 finished with a time of 4:05.71 to place 6th. Not far behind was Blake Biever '26, finishing with a time of 4:08.45 to place 9th. Also racing were Victor Cazabal '25, Luke Rostan '27, and Jackson McFerron '28, achieving times of 4:11.34, 4:16.83, and 4:18.35, respectively. 

Next was Alfonso Pimentel '28 in the 110m Hurdles, who finished with a time of 15.95s. In the 400m, Cooper achieved a new personal best of 48.19 to place 2nd. Oscar Newman '25 also raced well to finish 6th with a time of 49.45s. Additionally, Asa Shepard '27 ran a time of 52.67 in his first race of the year after coming back from a long injury. The last event of the day was the 800m, with showings from Zachary Liu-Walter '26, Tom Emery '27, Henry Reinke '28, and Charles Dybala '28. Liu-Walter placed 2nd with a strong time of 1:51.79. Emery achieved a new college personal best of 1:54.74 to place 10th. Reinke and Dybala finished with times of 1:55.51 and 1:59.30, respectively.
 
The Ephs have officially concluded their spring break training trip in Atlanta, GA. These men showed an immense amount of effort and grit throughout the past week, and it will be exciting to see them get out on the track in a few weekends even stronger. They will next compete at the UMASS Flagship Invitational on Saturday, April 12th, in Amherst, Mass.
