Williams to host 2026 NESCAC Track & Field Championships this weekend

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Williams College will host the 2026 NESCAC Track & Field Championships on Lee Track this Saturday and Sunday, bringing all 11 NESCAC schools together to vie for both the men's and women's titles.

The Championship also has the simple but ambitious goal of being a low-waste, zero plastic event, with a number of initiatives for both participants and spectators to engage in the "Green NESCAC Championship."

The NESCAC Championships will be a two-day championship for the first time since 2002. On Saturday, April 25, the field events begin at 1 p.m., and the track events start at 2 p.m. On Sunday, April 26, both track and field events are scheduled to start at 11 a.m.

The Ephs will be looking to defend their title on the women's side, having captured the championship a year ago at Wesleyan, and the men will be looking to jump up the rankings after finishing fourth in 2025.

A full preview of the event is available at NESCAC.com.

The "Green" aspects of the meet include the following setup at the track:

  • Waste Stations: Four dedicated waste stations featuring Recycling, Trash, and Compost.

  • Hydration Stations: A brand-new water bottle filler is ready for action next to the concessions stand.

  • Plastic-Free Concessions: We've ditched the plastic! All drinks are now served in cans or mixed from high-quality powders.

  • Sports Medicine: Providing compostable water cups if needed and water for athletes.

Spectators are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and refrain from using single-use plastic bottles to the facility, as well as cleaning up and using the waste stations throughout the event.
