Ephs Compete at Tufts Final Qualifier

MEDFORD, MA — A few members of the Williams College Men's Track and Field team competed at the Tufts Final Qualifier on Saturday, March 8th, 2025. This meet was the last chance that the Ephs had to qualify for NCAA Championships, and for most, it marked the final competition of the indoor season.

The first event of the day was the Distance Medley Relay, consisting of Bryce Cooper '26, Tom Emery '27, Henry Reinke '28, and Keiyu Mamiya '28. The four Ephs finished with a respectable time of 10:10.65. Over at the Pole Vault, Aidan Casey '25 achieved a new personal best of 4.61m (15' 1.5") to place 3rd. Vincent VanMaaren '27 also cleared 4.61m (15' 1.5"), placing 5th. In the 400m, Oscar Newman '25 placed 1st with a time of 48.79s, just missing out on the time needed to qualify for NCAA Championships. Next was the 5000m, where Chuckie Namiot '25 finished 2nd with a time of 14:41.23. In the 200m, Newman and Cooper finished with times of 22.23s and 22.48s, respectively. The last event was the 3000m, with Ethan Striff-Cave '27 finishing with a time of 9:01.15.

Overall, the Ephs had a strong indoor season and should be proud of what they have been able to accomplish. VanMaaren will be representing the men in the Pole Vault at the NCAA Championships next weekend at Nazareth University in Rochester, NY. to end of the indoor season. In two weeks the Ephs will be heading to Atlanta, GA over spring break to kick off the outdoor season. After a season of many great performances and personal bests, it will be exciting to see what the men's team can accomplish for the remainder of the year.
