TEMPE, Ariz. - After winning a first-round match during the 2025 NCAA Division III Singles Championship on May 23 at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, California, junior
Nicholas Chen of the Williams College men's tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American laurels in singles competition.

Chen was named to the NESCAC All-Conference First Team in doubles action during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons, while taking home ITA All-American honors in doubles during his sophomore season. The Oakland, California, native competed at the 2024 NCAA Doubles Championship alongside
Matt Kandel and the pair won a match in the Round of 16 and advanced to the quarterfinals, finishing the season ranked No. 3 in the ITA standings.
"I am proud of how Nicholas has battled various obstacles these past few years and is always finding ways to improve his game, as well as his teammates' games," said head coach
Dan Greenberg. "He is a loyal teammate and did a great job leading from the top spot this year, getting tougher every week. I am looking forward to his senior year."
Chen is a two-time NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Team selection and was named to the conference's All-Academic Team in 2025. During his three-year collegiate career, he has gone 32-14 in singles and 39-17 during doubles.
He helped lead the Ephs to Sweet 16 appearances in 2023 and 2024, as Williams hosted an NCAA Regional, featuring first, second and third-round action, in the spring of 2023. Over the last three years, Chen has helped power the team to a 40-17 overall record and a 23-7 mark in the ultra-competitive NESCAC.
