AUSTIN, TEXAS – Williams College senior captain
Yuu Ishikawa who hails from Los Altos, California was named to the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Division III Academic All-America Women's Tennis Second Team via a national vote.
Ishikawa is a three-time academic All-NESCAC honoree. To be honored by the College Sports Communicators and NESCAC an athlete must be at least a sophomore and possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 as well as being a key performer on a varsity team.
"Yuu has worked exceptionally hard on and off the court over the past four years," noted Eph head coach
Anik Cepeda. "Being recognized as a Second Team College Sports Communicators Academic All-American is a direct result of her discipline and commitment to being an avid learner and team player. Yuu has always led by example and deserves all the credits and awards that come her way."
A four-year player for the Ephs, Ishikawa compiled a career singles record of 51-27 and a 66-24 career record in doubles. This year playing at number one singles and number one doubles Ishikawa went 6-15 in singles and 15-4 at number one doubles.
Three times Ishikawa and an Eph teammate competed in the NCAA Doubles Tournament and the Eph pair was a finalist at the NCAAs once and a quarter finalist once earning her All-America recognition twice.
A Biochemical Molecular Biology major Ishikawa was named a Class of 1960 Scholar, is a member of the Japanese Student Union Board, Biology Major Committee, and served as a Research Assistant for Professor Shivon Robinson from 2022-24 helping write and publish Academic Manuscripts.
