CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Senior captain
Jane Ladaga of the No. 22-ranked Williams College women's tennis team emerged victorious in singles and doubles action Friday afternoon, as the Ephs secured a 4-0 win over SUNY New Paltz during the first round of the NCAA Division III Tournament at MIT on the DuPont Tennis Courts.
The Ephs (12-8, 5-5 NESCAC) won at the second and third doubles positions to earn the one point over the Hawks (8-11, 5-0 SUNYAC). Ladaga and first-year

Ayanna Varma won by a score of 6-0 at the third slot.
In singles action, Ladaga (6-1, 6-0), junior
Ahn Lin (6-0, 6-1) and sophomore
Ellie Stark (6-0, 6-1) earned victories at the third, fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Ladaga has gone 11-4 in singles and 13-7 during doubles this semester.
The Ephs, who have won 10 NCAA Tournaments in program history, are making their 28th all-time appearance on the national stage. Williams made the national tournament in 25 consecutive years from 1994-2018 and won six straight NCAA titles from 2008-13.
The journey continues with a second-round match that will not start before 1 p.m. indoors against No. 11 Bowdoin Saturday at J.B. Carr Tennis Bubble in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
