WGCA All-American Scholar Team Release
CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The No. 8-ranked Williams College women's golf team was tremendous in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year, as the program recorded the 12th-best team GPA (3.776) in NCAA Division III and seven Ephs were named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholar Team.

"At Williams, we set a high standard for our student-athletes to excel on the golf course and in the classroom," said head coach
Tomas Adalsteinsson. "Our women's golf team continues to embody that expectation. Seven of our eight student-athletes earned WGCA All-American Scholar honors.
Jackie Lu, who did not qualify, only missed the playing requirement, and held the highest GPA on the team. Given the academic rigor at Williams and the breadth of majors represented on our roster, from biology and economics to mathematics, psychology and languages, finishing with the 12th-highest team GPA among all Division III women's golf programs is a remarkable achievement. I am proud of the discipline, intelligence and drive our student-athletes demonstrate every day."
Williams was one of two NESCAC schools to rank in the top-12 for team GPA in Division III, as Middlebury was tied for the fifth-highest mark with a 3.821. Senior
Gio Kim, juniors
Euna Lee and
Victoria Kim, sophomores
Maryanne Grace,
Natalie Cheong and
Emma Abramson and first-year
Michelle Ding were recognized with All-American Scholar laurels.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team is the individual must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, be an amateur and on the team's roster through the conclusion of the team's season and have played in 50% of the college's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year nominated through the team's conference championship.
During the 2024-25 season, the Ephs compiled many noteworthy moments, as assistant coach
Bill Kangas was named the WGCA's Division III Golf Pride Assistant Coach of the Year. Williams earned first-place laurels in the team standings during the Polar Bear Shootout on Sept. 14-15 in Brunswick, Maine, and the Williams Spring Invitational on April 19-20 at Taconic Golf Club.
Lee took home WGCA East All-Region honors and earned medalist honors at the 2025 NESCAC Championship on May 2-4 in New Hartford, New York, on her way to being named the conference's Golfer of the Year and to the All-Conference First Team. Cheong also garnered East All-Region accolades and earned a spot on the All-Conference First Team, while finishing in the top-five overall three times and placing first in the individual standings during the 2024 George Phinney Classic on Sept. 21-22 in Middlebury, Vermont.
Gio Kim and Grace were named to the All-NESCAC First and Second Team, respectively. Grace (5-under par) and Cheong (4-under) placed first and second, respectively, on the individual side during the Polar Bear Shootout at Bowdoin College.
