Ephs move into top 10 at NCAA Championship with two rounds left

PALM DESERT, Calif. - After two days of competition, the Williams College women's golf team improved to 10th place and made the cut at the NCAA Championship at Desert Willow Golf Resort.

Wednesday's second round was on the Firecliff Course, and the Ephs shot a team score of +7, tied for sixth-best of all teams on the day, and moving Williams from a tie for 12th place into sole possession of 10th place with a two-day score of +25. The Ephs are one stroke ahead of Carleton College and two back of both Amherst and Pomona-Pitzer. Emory University leads the event with a score of 6-over-par, four strokes ahead of second-placed Carnegie Mellon University.

Euna Lee had Williams' best score on Wednesday with a 1-under-par 71, with Natalie Cheong just behind with an even-par 72. Both players have a two-day score of +5, tied for 30th in the field. Three players are tied for the individual lead at 3-under-par.

The field has now been cut down to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on those teams, and the Ephs will stay on the Firecliff course with the rest of the field for Thursday and Friday's rounds which will decide the national champions. The Ephs tee off at 7am PT, 10am ET on Thursday morning.
