CAMBRIDGE, MA – The Williams College men's track & field team returned to competition Friday and Saturday, splitting action between the Harvard Invitational and the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University.
At the Harvard Invitational,
Bryce Cooper led the Ephs on the short track, placing eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 50.13. In the mile,
Luis Angel Mendoza recorded a personal-best time of 4:28.69 to finish 18th overall.
In the distance events, Williams placed three runners inside the top 30, with two setting personal records. Sophomore
Jackson McFerron paced the Ephs with a 20
th place finish and a PR of 9:03.09, followed by
Duncan DeProfio in 25th at 9:06.10 and
Blake Biever in 28th with a personal-best time of 9:09.18.
The distance medley relay team of
Keiyu Mamiya,
Zachary Liu-Walter,
Desmond Snyder, and
TJ Zwall also posted a season-best time of 10:12.53.
In the field events,
Ulysses Junker earned third place in the invitational long jump with a mark of 6.77 meters, while
Devesh Khamitkar placed ninth in the triple jump open with a leap of 12.74 meters.
At the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University,
Keiyu Mamiya recorded a personal-best time of 4:11.61 in the mile. In the 3,000 meters,
Luke Zanuck also posted a personal-best performance, crossing in 8:23.48, while
TJ Zwall and
Andrew Kolenski each made their event debuts, finishing in 8:32.98 and 8:37.09, respectively.
No team scores were kept at the meet, as the Ephs now turn their focus to the BU Valentine Invitational and the Tufts Cupid Challenge on February 13–14.
