WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The Williams College men's indoor track & field team competed at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on the Track & Tennis Center in Boston and the Tufts Cupid Challenge at the Gantcher Family Sports and Convocation Center in Medford, Massachusetts, this weekend, as the Ephs recorded 12 personal-best marks.
During the Tufts Cupid Challenge, Williams recorded a pair of first-place efforts, as
Eli Welch '28 placed first overall in the 5,000-meter run with a personal-best time of 14:47.64 and
Luke Zanuck '26 led all student-athletes with a time of 4:21.64 in the 1 mile. The Ephs saw personal records from
Gavin Engtrakul '29 (1,000, 2:37.53),
Luis Angel Mendoza '29 (1 mile, 4:26.13),
Duncan DeProfio '27 (1 mile, 4:32.29),
Luke Rostan '27 (1 mile, 4:41.02),
Henry Alexander '27 (3,000, 8:40.23),
Andrew Kolenski '29 (5,000, 15:06.06) and
Jackson McFerron '28 (5,000, 15:44.87).
During the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University,
Ulysses Junker '29 (200, 21.65),
Eric He '29 (200, 22:61),
Keiyu Mamiya '28 (1 mile, 4:09.44) and
TJ Zwall '29 (1 mile, 4:11.44) clocked personal-best times. Junker's time in the 200 tied the school record and it was his first time competing in the event at Williams.
The Ephs will compete in the Division III New England Championship on Feb. 28 and March 1 at The Track at New Balance in Boston.
