NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - The No. 20-ranked Williams College women's tennis team and No. 17 Kenyon competed in a thoroughly entertaining match Sunday afternoon at Christopher Newport, as the Ephs and Owls each won three singles matches during a 4-3 triumph for Kenyon.
The Owls (10-3, 2-0 NCAC) swept the three doubles matches to secure the one point on the scoreboard. The singles matches were highly contested, as three of the matches saw student-athletes recover from a first-set loss to secure victories at their positions. Furthermore, three sets were decided by tiebreaker.

Julia Zhang won for the the Ephs (5-2, 2-1 NESCAC) during No. 3 singles, 3-6, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4. First-year
Ayanna Varma emerged victorious at the fourth slot, 4-6, 6-2, 6-3, and then senior captain
Jane Ladaga won in straight sets, 6-3, 6-1, at the sixth position.
Ladaga and Varma have gone 5-0 and 6-1 in singles action this semester, respectively.
The Ephs will compete against Salisbury Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Salisbury, Maryland.
