HADLEY, Mass. - After outstanding performances by senior
Charlene Peng and sophomore
Annika Paluska for the Williams College women's track & field team at the UMass Commonwealth Invitational and Bison Outdoor Classic this past weekend, the two Ephs were named NESCAC Women's Track Co-Athletes of the Week Tuesday morning by the conference office.
Peng won the 3,000-meter steeplechase during the UMass Commonwealth Invitational, clocking a personal-best time of 10:32.21 and clearing second place by over 12 seconds. The time ranks as the best among all Division III student-athletes this season.
Paluska tallied a career-best time of 2:07.89 in the 800 meters on her way to placing fourth during the Bison Outdoor Classic. She was competing against a field of Division I, II and III student-athletes and was the only Division III finisher in the top five of the event. Her time ranks first among Division III competitors this season.
The Ephs will compete Friday at the MIT Sean Collier Invitational in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and the University at Albany Bobbi Palma Spring Classic in Albany, New York.
