WILLIAMSTOWN, MA. — Competing on their home track at the Lee Track, the Williams Women's Track & Field delivered a standout performance at the NESCAC Track & Field Championships, finishing as the NESCAC Runner-Up with 135 points across the two-day meet.
The Ephs were dominate in the middle and long-distance events, with a series of event victories and record-breaking performances.
Kate Tuttle delivered one of the highlights of the weekend, winning the 1500m in a school-record time of 4:24.53. She later teamed up with Lily Yampolsky, Jordan Liss-Riordan, and Annika Paluska to capture the 4x800 relay title in another school-record performance of 9:02.98.
Paluska also secured an individual title in the 800m, crossing the line in 2:08.20, while Morgan Eigel added to the Ephs' distance dominance with a first-place finish in the 5,000m with a time of 16:41.61. Tamar Byl finished in third place (16:56.16) and Kate Swann in fourth (17:05.87) adding valuable points in the event.
In the steeplechase, Charlene Peng claimed gold in 10:32.63, followed by Clara Gahm in 4th (11:03.67) and Ella Kirkwood in 6th (11:17.97).
On the sprint side, Bella King-Harvey led the way with a first-place finish in the 400m (54.79) and later anchored the 4x400 relay. Cate Donaldson and Claire Jensen also scored in the event finishing in sixth (57.03) and seventh (57.05), respectively, while Ella Sukup placed eighth in the 100 meters (12.40).
The 4x100 relay of King-Harvey, Donaldson, Sukup, and Maggie Nichols added a seventh-place finish with a time of 48.13.
Williams also saw strong performances in the field events, as Ellie Fitzgerald placed second in the pole vault (3.75m), followed closely by Audrey Cheng in third (3.60m).
Maria Fareti scored across three throwing events, highlighted by a third-place finish in the hammer throw (48.30m), while also placing fifth in the shot put (11.70m) and eighth in the discus (37.00m).
Additional points came from Amelie Jamanka and Livi Mazerolle in the high jump, tying for sixth place with a mark of 1.53m, as well as the long jump trio of Kelsey Tarby (7th, 5.50m), Eliza Ayres (8th, 5.48m), and Mireya King (9th, 5.45m).
Olivia LaBelle added a seventh-place finish in the 100m hurdles (15.35), while Hannah Prokup placed sixth in the 10,000m (36:55.66).
Williams is back in action on Friday, May 8th thru 9th as they host the annual Farley Inter Regional Meet.
