Ephs Earn At-Large Bid into NCAA Division III Tournament

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - For the second consecutive year and third time in the last four years, the Williams College men's lacrosse team has garnered an at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament, as the Ephs will take on No. 14-ranked St. John Fisher Saturday at 3 p.m. during second-round action at Wesleyan University's Citrin Field in Middletown, Connecticut.

The Ephs (7-9, 3-7 NESCAC) picked up two signature road wins this season, defeating then-No. 5-ranked Salisbury, 14-10, on March 24, and outlasting then-No. 15 Middlebury, 8-7, on April 22 to secure a NESCAC Tournament berth.

During the win over the Panthers, Williams mounted a tremendous comeback, scoring two goals in the final one minute, 18 seconds of action, including senior captain and midfielder Ryan Johnson's game-winning tally with five seconds on the clock. Senior captain and attack Will Doran recorded four goals and one assist in the triumph at Middlebury.

Doran, Johnson and senior captain and defender Aidan Housenbold were all named to the NESCAC All-Conference Second Team in 2026. Doran leads the team in goals (41), assists (18) and points (59). He ranks seventh in the NESCAC in goals per game (2.56), eighth in points per game (3.69), ninth in total goals and ninth in total points. The Princeton, New Jersey, native tallied at least one point in all 16 games and finished with five or more points seven times.

Johnson appeared in and started 13-of-16 games, compiling 23 goals, nine assists and 32 points. The Somerset, New Jersey, native recorded four or more points on three occasions, including when he tallied three goals and one assist during the thrilling victory at Salisbury.

Housenbold was a staple on the defensive end for Williams, as he led the team with 29 caused turnovers, while ranking fourth in the conference in total caused turnovers and caused turnovers per game (1.81). The Atherton, California, native collected the second-most ground balls on the team with 62.

St. John Fisher (17-2, 8-1 Empire 8) won its conference championship and has been led by Lane Edinger (43 goals, 21 assists), Scott Bovard (41 goals, 20 assists) and Ethan Hodge (41 ground balls, 29 caused turnovers). Goalie Tyler Manning has gone 17-2 with a .592 save percentage and an 8.03 goals-against average.
