No. 1 Ephs Set Sights on National Invitational Rowing Championship/NESCAC Championship

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - The No. 1-ranked Williams College women's crew team's first varsity eight has won 5-of-6 races this spring and earned a silver medal during the grand final at the New England Rowing Championship Saturday, as the Ephs now turn their attention to the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC)/NESCAC Championship Sunday on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts.

The Ephs' second varsity eight has garnered first-place accolades during 4-of-6 races this spring, while earning a silver medal during the New England Championship. The third varsity eight has won 5-of-6 races in 2026, to go along with a runner-up effort during the New England Championship.

The primary lineup for the varsity eight this spring has featured coxswain Ariana Oppenheimer '26, followed by Courtney FitzMaurice '27, Carolyn Fortin '26, Vivian Johnson '27, Ellie Davis '26, Madeleine Lasell '29, Claire McDonald '26, Miranda Miller '29 and Audrey Riddle '26 in bow.

The second varsity eight has altered its lineup slightly this spring, but used the following one during the New England Championship, with coxswain Ayanna Keshav '28, followed by Lindsay Gadsden '27, Betsy Owens '28, Anne Moghtader '29, Catherine Farman-Farmaian '26, Charlotte Ragozin '27, Annie Refermat '26, Molly McWeeny '26 and Maya Tait '26 in bow.

The third varsity eight has used this lineup for the duration of the spring season, with coxswain Charis Woo '27, followed by Jordan Bose '29, Isolde Rayman-Moore '28, Olivia Thurman '27, Caroline Ripsteen '29, Annika Binstadt '29, Ellery Franceschini '29, Laela Clark '28 and Lily Clemens '28 in bow.

Williams leads the NESCAC with 11 conference championships, including winning the title in 2023. Last season at the NIRC Championship, the Ephs saw their first and third varsity eight boats come home with silver medals during runner-up efforts.
