AMHERST, MA – The Williams College Volleyball team (16-10)
struggled to find a rhythm against Tufts and fell to the Jumbos in
five games (21-25, 19-25, 25-19, 26-24, 9-15). The Ephs faced Tufts
at Amherst as part of NESCAC conference competition.
“We came up a little short in a match where both teams
battled defensively,” said head coach Fran Vandermeer.
The Ephs made strong efforts throughout the match, including an
impressive seven-point run to come back during the third game.
Leading the numbers for the Ephs were senior Riki McDermott (11
digs), juniors Andrea Scioscia (12 digs), Chelsea Kubal (6 kills,
12 digs), sophomores Kate Anderson (13 kills, 3 blocks), Nicole
Ballon-Landa (10 kills), and freshman Aly McKinnon (19 digs).
The Ephs play Amherst at home on Tuesday at 7PM.
