15th-ranked Ephs top 5th-ranked Middlebury 324 to 335 in Florida

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL – Fran Vandermeer's Williams women's golf team got the spring portion of their schedule off on the right foot upsetting 5th-ranked Middlebury by a score of 324 to 335 in a match played at The PGA Club. The PGA Club will host the NCAA Division III Championships May 16-19.

The 15th-ranked Ephs got a strong effort from senior captain Melissa Barton who claimed medalist honors on the day with a round of 76. Barton was the lone golfer to break 80.

Eph junior Anne O'Leary tied Middlebury's Jesse Bluestein for second place with an 80. Third place went to Middlebury's Julie Ellenberger who recorded an 81.

Eph junior Kait O'Brien captured fourth place with a round of 83, while Eph sophomore Aimee Weber and Middlebury's Courtney Mazzei tied for fifth at 85.  Sixth place went to Flora Weeks of Middlebury who carded an 89.

Eph junior Kristin Nottebohm tallied a 90 and Middlebury's Liz Hirsch shot a 94.

The next event for the Ephs will come when they return to the northeast to compete at the Jack Leaman Invitational on April 18 & 19.
