New London, CT -- This weekend, the Ephs (4-3 overall, 2-1 in
NESCAC) had a tough start against Connecticut College Friday night
but came back today ready to battle and win against NESCAC foes
Wesleyan and Trinity.
Williams started the afternoon with a 3-0 win against Wesleyan
(27-25, 25-19, 25-20) in which senior Nicole
Ballon-Landa had a team-leading 9 kills. Senior Kate Anderson
added 7 kills. Senior Emily Avis was a
force all afternoon with 33 assists. Junior Aly McKinnon led
the team with 9 digs and was closely followed by sophomore Mika Nakashige
with 8 digs.
After the win over Wesleyan, the Ephs went on to face Trinity
College and won in 4 games (19-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-21), dropping
only the first game to Trinity. Kate Anderson led the Ephs with an
impressive 16 kills and 23 digs. Freshman Emily Baratta and
senior Nicole Ballon-Landa added 8 and 7 kills, respectively.

Doll also chipped in with 6 kills. Emily Avis contributed 37
assists for the game. Aly McKinnon added 22 digs to showcase the
strong Williams defense.
Eph head coach Christi Kelsey was pleased with the Ephs'
performance and noted that both games "were battles, as we expect
most of the conference games to be." She also remarked that she is
"really pleased with how the team responded to a tough loss."
The Ephs will hit the road again this coming weekend and head to
Cambridge for the MIT Invitational on Friday, September 24.
