An early goal isn't enough for the Ephs as they fall to Skidmore, 2-1

Box Score

SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — An early goal from the Ephs does not prove to be the difference in the Ephs' Saturday affair with Skidmore College, as the Thoroughbreds recovered well from an early concession to hit the Ephs back twice in the next half an hour, before ultimately going on to take the 2-1 decision.

The Ephs scored the opening goal in the third minute through sophomore JC Bahr-de Stefano, as he pounced on a failed clearance by the Thoroughbred back line to rocket a shot from thirty yards out into the empty net of senior Thoroughbred keeper Eli Kisselbach.

The Thoroughbreds did not let the Ephs' roaring start affect their game plan, as it took them just over ten minutes to equalize through senior Adam Beek's sixth goal of the season. He received a cross from the right side from junior Noah Weinberg to blast a ball past Eph freshman goalkeeper Bobby Schneiderman after controlling it beautifully off his chest.

Beek doubled his tally on the day on the 26-minute mark to give the Thoroughbreds their lead that would hold up until the end of the game. Beek once again received a pass inside the box, this time from freshman Tim Spenser on the right side, before dispatching the ball routinely into the back of Schneiderman's net from eight yards out.

Beek's sixth and seventh goals of the season lifted the Thoroughbreds to their sixth win of the season (6-4-1) and left the Ephs with as many wins as losses (4-4-1). The Thoroughbreds look to extend their win-streak with a tilt at home against Utica College on Tuesday, set to kick off at 7 PM. The Ephs look to bounce back against Endicott tomorrow, with a kickoff time of 1:30 PM EDT.
