AUBURN, ME – The Williams Women's Golf team faced some tough conditions as they battled through round one of the NESCAC Fall Qualifier, hosted by Bates College at Martindale Country Club. Rain covered the forecast for the entire day, but all teams were able to get the round in, which seemed unlikely leading up to the event. Hamilton College currently holds the lead, shooting a 301 (+17). Amherst College sits in second by 3, and Williams College trails the lead by 4. On the individual side, sophomore
Euna Lee is in the lead, with a stellar 72 (+1).
While Lee led the team lineup, first-year
Emma Abramson followed closely with a strong 75 (+4). Sophomore
Victoria Kim put up a solid 78 (+7) through the rain, and junior
Gio Kim followed with an 80 (+9). Rounding out the team lineup was first-year
Maryanne Grace with an 82 (+11).
Lee comments, "The rainy conditions were definitely not the best, but I am glad I got to keep the ball in play throughout the round. I am confident that we can finish strong and go low tomorrow!"
Head Coach
Tomas Adalsteinsson adds, "Our team hit a lot of great shots today, but we needed a few more putts to drop. We were happy to get the round in and excited for another go at it tomorrow."
The Ephs tee it up again tomorrow for the final round, with tee times starting at 10am. Follow along for scoring on Spikemark.
