Women’s golf claims runner-up at Amherst’s Jack Leaman Invitational

SOUTH HADLEY, Mass. - The Ephs women's golf team returned to action in its first spring tournament, finishing second at the Jack Leaman Invitational, hosted by Amherst College. Williams had a team score of 603 in the two-day tournament, six strokes back of New York University, and one stroke ahead of the hosts from Amherst.

A pair of Ephs shot even par in one of their rounds, with Euna Lee accomplishing the feat on Saturday, and Michelle Ding doing so on Sunday. Natalie Cheong had the low score between the two rounds, shooting +4 on Saturday and +2 on Sunday, finishing in a tie for sixth place in the individual standings. Maryanne Grace and Zoe Wynn also contributed throughout the weekend, helping the #6-ranked Ephs to a finish ahead of rival and #4-ranked Amherst.

Williams will play next weekend at Wellesley's Northeast Invitational before taking a weekend off ahead of the NESCAC Championship, which will be hosted at Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown from Friday, May 1 to Sunday, May 3.
