First Year Henry Forte Named NEWA Rookie Wrestler of the Week: Ephs Ranked 5th in New England & 24th Nationally

WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. – The New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) has named Eph first year Henry Forte the NEWA Rookie of the Week for his outstanding performance at the Doug Parker Invitational hosted by Springfield College.

Competing at 165 lbs. Forte started off his day with pins in his first four matches. Battling for the title at 165 Forte was matched up with returning All-Region honoree Steven Rochard from Coast Guard. Forte prevailed 10-4 to capture the title.

The Open Mat has Williams ranked 24^th nationally in NCAA DIII and the Ephs are ranked 5^th in New England by NEWA.

Five members of Scott Honecker's 2023-24 Williams wrestling team are ranked individually in the NEWA top eight in their respective weight class following the completion of the Doug Parker Invitational at Springfield College.

Eph head coach Scott Honecker commented, "We're happy for these guys to get some recognition, but we're not going to get too caught up in November rankings. We have a long stretch of development before the numbers next to anyone's names matter too much. What matters to us is we are doing the right things and striving for daily improvement. Fortunately, as evidenced by the guys on the list and Henry's recognition this week, these guys are doing that. There are exciting things ahead for this group."
