WILLIAMSTOWN, MA – The Williams Women's golf team came out of the weekend with an impressive win at Taconic Golf Club. Battling wind gusts and a downpour towards the end of the round, the Ephs shot a 304 (+20) to win by 16 shots over Pomona College. On the individual side, sophomore
Euna Lee was victorious with a 72 (+1), winning by one shot over teammate
Gio Kim.
For the Williams Purple team, Lee had a phenomenal round, carding four birdies and many impressive pars. Following Lee was senior Tianyi Zhunag, shooting a 75 (+4). Zhuang made a great birdie on her last hole of the day, the par-5 1
st. First-year
Emma Abramson finished the day next with a 78 (+7). Abramson hit a stellar shot on hole 18 to a mere few feet, giving her an easy tap in for birdie. Sophomore
Jackie Lu followed with a 79 (+8), birding both the par-3 5
th and 9
thholes. Junior G. Kim had a tougher day, but stayed steady in her round to shoot an 81 (+10).
On the gold team side, sophomore
Victoria Kim led the lineup with a 78 (+7), with great birdies on the par-4 7
th and the par-5 18
th. First-year
Maryanne Grace followed with an 80 (+9), matching many of her teammates with a birdie on the par-5 1
st. Senior
Aishvarya Bedi came in with an 81 (+10), also birding the first hole and making many solid up-and-downs. First-year
Natalie Cheong wrapped up the lineup with an 83 (+11), with her lone biride of the day also coming on the 1
st.
Lee comments, "It was exciting to receive all the energy from the alumni and teammates throughout the round. There were definitely ups and downs throughout the round, but I am happy that I finished strong. Winning the tournament as a team especially at our home invite was definitely the highlight of this weekend."

Tomas Adalsteinsson adds, "Super proud of the team for playing so well on our challenging home course, in front of family, friends and all the alumni that made the trip. We are seeing good progress and we will continue to build on this as we go into the second half of the fall season. This was an especially good weekend to be an Eph!"
The weekend was ultimately a triumph for the Ephs, and they look forward to competing at the Yale Invitational next weekend at the Yale Golf Course in New Haven, Connecticut.
