Ephs 11th After Day One of the 4-Day NCAA DIII Championship

Nicholasville, KY, -- After the first round of the 4-day NCAA DIII Women's Golf Championship being played at Keene Run Golf Course the Ephs are in 11th place in the 29-team field,18 shots back of leader Emory University.

Emory shot 295 for a score of seven over par, while the Ephs came in at 313, which is 25 over par.

Sophomore Euna Lee carded a four over par 76 to lead the Ephs. Senior captain Tianyi Zhuang shot a 5 over round of 77 and junior captain Gio Kim came in 6 shots over par with a 78. The final scoring Eph player on the day was sophomore Victoria Kim who carded an 82. First year Emma Abramson finished 12 over par with an 84.

Eph head coach Tomas Adalsteinsson noted, "It was a nervous start to the round today with four of the five players playing their first NCAA National Championship. We settled in towards the middle of the round and hit a lot of great shots. On the last few holes we gave some shots away, so not the opening round we wanted, but we're determined to do better tomorrow."
