Emma Abramson who hails from Sandwich, Mass. shot 80 on round one of the Massachusetts Women's Amateur Championship.
Abramson is tied for 19
th in a field of 61 players. On the front nine Abramson bogeyed the par 4 third hole and double bogeyed the par three ninth hole and shot par on the remaining six holes.
On the back nine Abramson had three pars (10, 14 and 18). On the other six holes she recorded a bogey on each to put her 9 over for the day. Abramson is 11 shots back of leader Mekhala Costello who carded a two under par 69.
The top 32 players after the first two rounds of medal play advance to match play where the tournament champion will be determined.
