Middlebury, VT -- The Williams Women's Golf team got off to a strong start on day one of the George Phinney Classic. Light winds and rolling fairways allowed the Ephs to manage their way around the challenging Ralph Myhre Golf Course. The Ralph proves to be a test of golf with its small and sloping greens and the need focus on strategic play off the tee. After shooting 304 (+20) the Ephs sit in first, 9 strokes ahead of Wellesley.
The team was led by sophomore Natalie Cheong who had a smooth round consisting of 14 pars, which led her to shooting 73 (+2) and propelling her to first individually. Sophomore
Emma Abramson follows behind after shooting a 76 (+5), highlighted by 4 up and downs. Senior captain
Gio Kim fired 3 birdies, helping her shoot 77 (+6).
Kim comments, "As always the Ralph was super challenging and I'm very proud of the team for grinding it out and putting ourselves in a great place for tomorrow!"

Euna Lee who both carded 78 (+7). First year
Michelle Ding shot 81 (+10), highlighted by two birdies, and junior
Victoria Kim carded an 84 (+13). Rounding out the lineup was junior
Jackie Lu with a 89 (+18).
