Williamstown, MA -- Williams Women's Golf finished in third out of 23 teams at the Williams Invitational. After shooting 299 (+17) the Ephs finished 7 strokes behind runner-up New York University and 15 strokes behind the victorious Wellesley College.
The team was led today by sophomore Maryanne Grace with her 73 (+2), highlighted by two birdies, and junior Euna Lee who also shot 73 (+2), with her three birdies. Senior Captain Gio Kim shot 74 (+3), also carding three birdies.
Captain Kim commented, "I'm very proud of everyone for grinding every shot out there today and bouncing back. It's bittersweet to be playing my last collegiate round at Taconic but it was so fun to be out there with everyone this weekend!"
Junior Victoria Kim followed behind with a 78 (+5), ending her round with two birdies on her finishing couple holes. Michelle Ding shot 79 (+8) and Emma Abramson shot 80 (+9). Rounding out the lineup was Sophomore
Natalie Cheong and Junior
Jackie Lu who both 82 (+11).
Assistant Coach Bill Kangas noted, "It was another exceptionally beautiful day at Taconic, perfect playing conditions. We'd like to congratulate medalist Emily Renoff (Bowdoin) for posting a two-day 3 under par score, and Wellesley College for their team win. Our Williams team did a great job today, moving up from the fifth spot to finish third. I liked our team's energy which was fueled by our passionate and supportive golf alumni who were constantly cheering us on."
