WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- The Williams Women's Golf team currently leads the Williams Spring Invitational by 5 strokes after shooting a 298 (+14) at the Taconic Golf Club. Warm temperatures, firm fairways, and support from fellow Ephs made for good scoring conditions.
Michelle Ding '28 led the team's shooting an impressive 73 (+2), highlighted by two birdies.
Ding comments, "I think that today went well! I think everyone, including myself, struggled a bit on the front nine, but more birdie signs were sent in the back nine! I think that the warm weather definitely helped me play a lot better and hopefully tomorrow will be just as good if not better!"
Just one shot behind Ding was Victoria Kim '26 who fired a 74 (+3), after starting her round strong with an eagle. Closely behind was Euna Lee '26 and individual Emma Abramson '27 who shot a pair of 75s (+4). One stroke behind was Natalie Cheong who shot 76 (+5), highlighted by 3 birdies. Gio Kim finished strong on the back nine, including two birdies, to shoot 78 (+6). Rounding out the lineup was Jackie Lu '26 who shot 82 (+11) and Maryanne Grace '27 who shot 84 (+13).
Eph head coach Tomas Adalstienson remarks, "I was proud of the way the team played today. Good energy and several birdie signs flying around the course. I know the team is determined to do even better and we will be ready to go for the second round tomorrow."
