WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- Williams Women's Golf team won the Williams Spring Invitational after shooting a 320 (+36) at Taconic Golf Club. The Ephs tied with Wellesley College and won in a tie breaker comparing the 5th player's score on each team. Windy conditions, tough pin placements, and cold temperatures made for high scores. Today was a battle for all competitors.
Euna Lee '26 finished in 3rd individually and led the team shooting an impressive 76 (+5) in these harsh conditions.
Lee comments, "The winds were super tough, and we definitely battled our way through today. I am so proud of our team for constantly grinding throughout the round until the end! This tournament proved how we can play better in the future, and I am super excited for NESCACs."
Closely behind was Captain Gio Kim '25, who shot a 79 (+8), highlighted by 2 hole out birdies. One stroke back was individual Jackie Lu '26 who shot 80, also highlighted by two birdies. Individuals Emma Abramson '27 and Mayranne Grace shot a pair of 81s (+10) and both closed out their rounds with a birdie on the 18th. Rounding out the lineup was Michelle Ding '28 with an 82 (+11), Victoria Kim '26 with an 83 (+12), and Natalie Cheong '27 with an 85 (+14).
Eph head coach Tomas Adalstienson remarks, "The course and the gusty winds provided us with plenty of challenge today. Execution on some key shots was off which led to some bigger numbers. It was definitely a game of misses today, minimizing the damage, and the lead from round one helped us secure the win after a tiebreaker. It was good to get the W, and we know we need to practice well over the next week and a half to be ready for the NESCAC Championship."
