WILLIAMSBURG, VA -- Williams Women's Golf team currently sits in 8th after three rounds of the NCAA Championship. Players across the tournament finished their remaining holes of round two at 8am, from suspended play the night before. The field was then cut to the top 15 teams and play began on the River course at a 12:30 shotgun start. For the first time all week the players played in sunshine and finished the 18 holes without a delay. Firm fairways and soft greens set up for prime scoring conditions, where the Ephs shot a 298 (+10).
The team was led by sophomores Emma Abramson and Natalie Cheong who shot a pair of 73s (+1). Abramson's round was steady with two birdies and 14 pars and Cheong's round was highlighted by four birdies.
Cheong comments, "Another long day out at Williamsburg but the team and I managed to bring in another great round. The weather is finally clearing up and feeling more ready than ever to finish strong on our final tournament day of the season!"
First year Michelle Ding and Junior Euna Lee followed with a pair of 76s (+4). Ding and Lee's rounds were both highlighted by three birdies. Senior Captain Gio Kim rounded out the lineup with an 80 (+8), highlighted by two birdies. Kim will play her last collegiate competitive round tomorrow.
Eph head coach Tomas Adalsteinsson comments, "Strong performance from the team today! We're starting to see more of our players step up and show what they are capable of. We still have more in us and excited to have one more round tomorrow!"
