Williamstown, MA - The Williams College Ephs secured a spot in the 2025 NCAA DIII Men's Lacrosse Tournament. Their path will start with the R.P.I Engineers, whom the Ephs faced off against earlier this year. RPI (RPI) defeated the Ephs on Farley-Lamb Field back on March 19, 14-9
Williams will need to be at their best to progress through the bracket. Reliance on senior goaltender Matt Wetmore will be crucial. Jesse Shapiro, Will Doran, Harrison Cross, Ryan Johnson, and Ryan Nagel are going to be leading the way for the offense. The defensive zone is going to be locked down by players Wyatt Cotton, Brendan Coolen, and Eddie Lloyd. Faceoffs will get taken care of by Ian Kim and Ethan Filler. However, it will take a full roster effort to make a championship run, and leaders will arise from every single member of this team.
The Ephs look to build on the strong performances they have had in games against teams like Babson and Amherst. Even in games where the score did not go the way of the Ephs, they still showed out strong against teams such as Christopher Newport and Wesleyan.
Head Coach George McCormack had this to say in anticipation of the upcoming game, "Everyone is excited about this opportunity to play RPI again and we also look forward to another week of training together."
The Ephs and Engineers will square off on Saturday, May 10 at 3 PM at RPI in Troy, NY.
