NEW HARTFORD, NY -- The Williams Women's Golf team finished in fourth place at the NESCAC Championship. The unranked Middlebury Women's Golf team took the title and clinched their spot at NCAA Tournament after finishing five strokes better than Bowdoin. Eph junior Euna Lee fulfilled a long time goal of hers and took the individual title by one shot after putting on an impressive three day performance of 71-76-78 (+6).
Lee commented, "We definitely struggled throughout today, but I believe today's performance isn't a reflection of ourselves. I am super grateful for the individual win since this is something I had my eyes on for a while. However, this doesn't feel the same without the team. I know we can come back from this even stronger for the next!"
Sophomore Maryanne Grace followed with an 80 (+7) and senior captain Gio Kim shot 83 (+10). Rounding out the lineup was sophomore Natalie Cheong with an 84 (+11) and first year Michelle Ding with an 85 (+12).
Eph head coach Tomas Adalsteinsson notes, "We didn't reach our goal of defending the NESCAC Championship. It really wasn't our week as a team, but Euna played really solid golf and we're proud of her finishing first individually. Now we wait for the NCAA National Championship selections to come out tomorrow to see if we get another chance to play the best teams in the country."
